The political dialogue between the European Commission and the Hungarian National Assembly also includes direct visits and exchange of views. Since 2014 the European Commission has put special emphasis on the improvement of relations with national Parliaments. It follows that visits of Commissioners have taken place regularly in the Hungarian National Assembly. The Commissioners or other representatives of the European Commission are hosted by the Committee on European Affairs solely or – depending on the subject-matter of the discussions – with other standing committees.

Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi took part via videoconference in the meeting held on 30 November 2020 of the Committee on European Affairs of the Hungarian National Assembly. The Commissioner gave a brief overview on the current issues related to his portfolio with particular attention to the European Commission's communication on 2020 EU enlargement policy as well as to the financial support given towards regions concerned in EU's neighbourhood and enlargement policy.

Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete had exchange of views with the members of the Committee on European Affairs, the Committee of Economics and the Committee on Sustainable Development of the Hungarian National Assembly on 14 March 2019. The commissioner accentuated the importance of the European Commission's Clear Planet for all 2050 strategic vision and dicussed the main issues of his portfolio with the members of the Hungarian National Parliament.
- Michel Barnier, the European chief negotiator for Brexit
Michel Barnier, the European Chief Negotiator for Brexit visited the Hungarian National Assembly on 4 June 2018 for the second time and held exchange of views with the representatives of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on European Affairs. The discussions focused on the state of play of the Brexit negotiations, the citizens’ rights and main aspects of the future cooperation between the EU 27 and the United Kingdom.

Director General Marc Lemaître and his delegation held discussions with members of the Committees on European Affairs, Economics and the Budget of the Hungarian National Assembly on 17 July 2018. The meeting provided information on the EU post 2020 multi annual financial framework as well as the proposed reform of the Cohesion policy.

Director Manfred Bergmann and his delegation met with members of the Committees on European Affairs, Economics and the Budget of the Hungarian National Assembly on 18 September 2018. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the Hungarian budgetary developments and exchanged views on the relevant guidelines of the Stability and Growth Pact.

The discussion concerned among others the details of the EU External Investment Plan, the goals related to sustainable development as well as the ongoing consultations on the external financial instruments of the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the EU
