"The Library connecting people" – Cooperation among young librarians of the Carpathian Basin
László Kövér, Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, has launched a scholarship programme with the following title: "The Library connecting people" – Cooperation among young librarians of the Carpathian Basin
The programme has the aim of enabling young Hungarian librarians from the Carpathian Basin to work together, exchange experiences and cooperate in professional matters. The participants of the programme spend a month in the Library of the Hungarian Parliament. During that period they come to know the holdings, services and operation of the library. They can study Hungary’s system of libraries, speak about their own professional activities, make new contacts, and get an insight into the work of the Hungarian National Assembly. During the programme the participants also visit different libraries (e.g. university, county, municipal, local branch libraries) and cultural institutions all around the country. They are familiarized with the organizational set-up of the Office of the Hungarian Parliament, various aspects of legislative work and recent findings of research on Hungarian communities beyond Hungary’s borders.
Young Hungarian librarians can apply to take part in that programme from the following countries: Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
Scholarship applications have been invited since 2011.
The scholarship programme has created new professional links, friendships and experiences.
